Step 1:  Make sure hack remote is working. Press Power to see if it turns machine on and off.  If it does go to step 2.

If you have a RDR model, go into the menu and change the command mode to 1:  
System Menu System Menu
-->Setup -->Initial
--->Other --->Options
---->Command Freq ---->Command Freq
   
Now change your original remote so that it works as well:  
   
If yours has a switch change to 1 If yours has not got a  switch hold both ENTER and 1 down together for 5 seconds.

 

RDR-GX350 reset - hold stop on machine and press power on machine together. The Hold enter and button 3 as this puts it back to command mode 3
Both the hack remote and the original should work fine now.  

 

 

Step 2: Hack the machine. Make sure the remote is working first by pressing OFF

Leave powered on - "No Disc" showing.

Hold Yellow for 10 seconds.

If it turns off or 24p light flashes all is done. - Try a region 1 Disc.

      A service menu will show.
Hold Yellow for 5 seconds. Release button and keep pointed at machine for 20 seconds. You often get "Data Reset" on screen.
Issues:  
"Locked" Hold stop and eject for 5 seconds.

(Dealer lock to stop kids taking demo dvds out in the shops)
Original remote no longer working See Above
Hacks Left Your remote starts with 8. So you can hack 8 different machines in theory. If you want to see how many left you can put a cd in and press HD. If it jumps to say track 3 you have 3 left. If it jumps to 6 you have 6 left. Usually if you try and hack the machine but all are used up it simply ejects the draw .
Picture Black and white: Simply go into the menu and change the line one output to RGB. One way or another a setting in the menu will rectify this for sure. Try on another TV as a last resort.
