Click the picture if you have the silver coloured one:

• Ensure Timer Record is off
• Remove the dvds
• Close the Draw and leave powered on.
  
  The remote hack works best if you are not too close 3 foot away is ideal.
  
  Press Ok or any button then, Hold down Yellow for 3 seconds then when you let go it sends the commands, keep pointed at machine for 20 seconds.
  
  You'll will usually see it go 6 then 1 then shutdown and then it should say 'hello' or start up when done. It may not show the 6,1 on the screen on the older models or on the home theatre ones. They may just flash on the LCD screen instead.
  
   

  ---

  Freeview / VCR Combi / HDD machines
  
  If you have one with hard disc, freeview or vcr do this instead:
  
  Use the Eject on this remote Hold the Stop to open draw. Now press play then as soon as the draw closes hold the yellow for 2-3 seconds then let go. Keep pointed at the machine though for 15 seconds. The idea is to catch it in dvd mode.

  Hacks left.

  The remote starts with 8 hacks for 8 different machines or 8 attempts on the one machine. Once done it remains hacked forever though.

  Hold blue to see hacks left. If you press button three and it then shows 3 on the screen for example you can hold the blue button to see the number of hacks left. Or put a cd/dvd in and see what track it jumps to. Ie if it goes to track 4 you have 4 hacks left!

  Problems:

  • Make sure the timer recording is off.
  • Lcd says "Remote DV D2" or "DVD2" shows when you press any button on the hack remote. Go into the menu with the original remote and change the remote frequency to DVD1 / D1 see below:

  Setting up the original remote control

  If you are using another Panasonic unit at the same location, change the setting of

  the remote control so that you can operate the units independently of each other.

  Apply the selected setting [DVD 1, 2 or 3] to the remote control.

  •  Press and hold ENTER and press the appropriate number button 1, 2 or 3 for at least 2 seconds.

  •  Exit the menu with RETURN.

  Set up the remote control for the unit.

  •  Press FUNCTIONS.

  •  Select [To Others] with and confirm with ENTER.

  •  Select [Setup] with and confirm with ENTER.

  •  Select [Others] with , [Remote Control] with and confirm with ENTER.

  •  Select [DVD 1, 2 or 3] with and confirm with ENTER.

  If the remote control setting does not match that of the unit, DVD 1, 2 or 3 appears on

  the unit’s display. Press ENTER and press the appropriate number key 1, 2 or 3 simultaneously for

  at least 2 seconds.
